I was looking for info on the above radios. What I'm looking for is descriptions, parts, general feelings on them. I have someone who wants to sell them to me, and I want to know things as prices for crystals, PL reeds, mics, etc. Any information should be sent thru email, as I don't get to the newsnet nearly as often. Thanks in advance. -Brian P. The Yaesu FT-530 has the *most* "bells and whistles". That is, it has the most features and can be quite complex and overwhelming. The DJ-580 and TH-78 are also excellent radios, but less techie. However, I personally believe the TH-78 looks the neatest out of the bunch. I prefer the Yaesu and Kenwood over the Alinco, due to the fact that with all Alinco products I've seen(HT concerned), the dials/knobs are a bit flimsy, and look like they're about to pop off at any second. All of them are priced almost the same, around $400 U.S. dollars, give or take $20. -- ................................................................................
